About the Role
We are looking for a Sales Strategy & Alternative Distribution Leader to join the Distribution team in a strategic staff position reporting directly to the Head of Distribution. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our commercial insurance go-to-market approach, expanding alternative distribution channels, and identifying new growth opportunities through strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy Design & Execution
Support the Head of Distribution in Defining and implementing sales strategies aligned with our commercial objectives, focusing on mid-sized and large corporate clients.
Support to Traditional Distribution (Broker Channel)
Collaborate with regional sales teams to ensure strategic alignment and innovation across existing broker relationships.
Performance Analytics & Insights
Monitor sales performance metrics, conduct market and portfolio analysis, and generate actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
Channel Innovation
Expand our distribution ecosystem by integrating non-traditional channels into the sales model, leveraging B2B2B and B2B2C frameworks.
Partnership Development
Identify, evaluate, and activate strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, digital platforms, and industry associations to enable alternative distribution models (e.g., bancassurance, embedded insurance).
Go-to-Market Coordination
Act as a key interface for the most important projects between Distribution, Product, Marketing, Legal, Underwriting and IT to develop and deploy commercially viable insurance solutions.
Commercial Innovation & Value Proposition
Contribute to the design of modular, embedded, or digitally-distributed insurance offerings tailored to evolving client and market needs.
Performance of the controls over the distribution network and draft of the reports on the same pursuant to IVASS regulation no 40/2018; administrative management of the distribution agreements, including agency agreements and brokerage agreements.
Required Skills & Experience
Insurance Industry Experience
Experience in a strategic or commercial role within the insurance industry, preferably in P&C or commercial lines. A background in strategy consulting is highly desireable
Partnership & Channel Development
Strong understanding of bancassurance models, embedded distribution, and partner-based go-to-market strategies.
Strategic Thinking with Executional Drive
Proven ability to connect strategic vision with operational execution, translating ideas into tangible business impact.
Analytical Acumen
Experience working with data-driven insights and sales KPIs to guide decision-making and performance optimization.
Strong Communication & Influence Skills
Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively across functions and seniority levels.
Digital & Ecosystem Awareness
Familiarity with trends in digital distribution, API integration, customer journey mapping, and insurtech collaborations.
University education and Required
(Business, Economics, Insurance, Engineering or related field). MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus.
