Description The Sales Trainee is an entry-level, developmental role designed to learn our products, customers, and sales process while supporting efforts to grow our customer base and deliver exceptional service to existing clients. This role works closely with experienced sales professionals and the sales support team, with a focus on building the skills needed to support customer relationships, quoting activity, and sales follow-through. Product Lines Epoxy systems and accessories Hardscape products Cementitious flooring systems Key Responsibilities Learn the company’s products, systems, and sales process through hands-on training and day-to-day support Assist with contacting potential customers and reconnecting with existing customers who have not purchased recently Support account management activities to ensure consistent, high-quality customer service Partner with the sales support team to coordinate quotes, orders, customer follow-ups, and issue resolution Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner and help route technical questions to the appropriate internal resources Conduct follow-up communications to keep customers informed of new products, services, and developments Participate in ride-alongs, product training, and sales development activities as part of the training program Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity in the company CRM Use Outlook and other company systems daily to manage schedules, customer communications, and follow-up Requirements Required Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term customer relationships Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage follow-ups and deadlines consistently Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook (email/calendar) and comfort working in CRM/ERP systems Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) and able to learn new software quickly Coachable mindset with a strong interest in developing sales skills Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed for training ride-alongs and customer visits Ability to work in customer environments such as manufacturing shops, warehouses, boatyards, and job sites Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience in composites, marine/boatbuilding, industrial distribution, coatings/resins, construction materials, or related industries Prior customer-facing experience (inside sales, retail sales, hospitality, or service roles with measurable goals) Familiarity with CRM systems and basic sales pipeline management Comfortable learning technical products and discussing applications with end users Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to drive for extended periods as needed and work in customer/shop/warehouse environments Ability to transport product samples and marketing materials for training or customer visits (reasonable accommodations provided as required)
