KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Trainer or coach or in a similar role within a sales environment.
  • A strong understanding of learning theory and behavioural psychology.
  • A growth mindset combined with an autonomous, self-directed approach to work.
  • A track record of delivery and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Strong background in outbound sales and high-volume call environments.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of life insurance products and sales processes (preferred).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Analytical mindset for assessing training outcomes and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in the design and delivery of engaging training materials.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in coaching or training within the financial services or insurance sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or a related field.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As part of a small, but professional Learning and Development team, the Sales Performance Trainer, will play a pivotal role in the development of the existing Smarter Cover’s sales force. Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development and working closely with the Head of Sales and Senior Operational Management team your primary role will be to drive performance improvements across a range of KPIs and areas.
The role encompasses the end-to-end learning journey, and you will be responsible for conducting Training Needs Analysis and discovery with key stakeholders, content design and delivery, post-delivery follow-up and coaching, and Post Implementation Review and measurement.
You will have strong analytical skills and experience in identifying areas for performance improvement that are aligned to the strategic goals of the company and our values of professionalism, expertise and the delivery of and outstanding customer journey.
You will design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that equip Sales Consultants with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to be successful in a regulated sales environment. You will have experience in designing engaging and effective course content that can easily be translated into performance improvements.
You will also be an excellent performance coach, able to use a verity of different techniques to stimulate performance improvements from individuals and groups. Post delivery implementation is a critical function of this role, and much of your daily activity will be consolidating learning on the contact centre floor.
This role is heavily suited towards a performance focused individual with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to identify and improving the behaviours of the contact centre agents and managers.
Your will also provide ongoing regulatory and compliance training in line with our Training and Competence framework and regulatory obligations and may also be required to deliver induction or other ad-hoc training at times.
