This role sits within the Product organisation and reports directly to the Salesforce Platform Lead. The Business Analyst acts as the front door to Salesforce demand, working closely with the Head of RevOps & Systems and the Product Owner to ensure incoming requests are clearly defined, appropriately shaped, and ready for prioritisation. The Salesforce Business Analyst is not a ticket taker or a project coordinator. Their role is to improve the quality of demand, reduce delivery thrash, and ensure Salesforce evolves in a controlled and scalable way. Salesforce is treated as a shared organisational platform, not a team-specific system. Key Responsibilities Intake Management & Demand Qualification Own the end-to-end Salesforce intake process across all teams including Revenue, Marketing, Partnerships, Support, Finance, Product and Operations Act as the primary point of contact for Salesforce requests, enhancements, and ideas all incoming requests are clearly defined in terms of: The business problem being solved The outcome or behaviour change required Who is impacted and how Urgency, timing, and known constraints Challenge solution-led or poorly framed requests and rework them into clear, problem-oriented demand Partner with the Salesforce Platform Lead to: Assess complexity and dependencies at a high level Ensure intake quality supports capacity and sequencing discussions Maintain a clean, transparent intake backlog that accurately represents Salesforce demand Requirements Definition & Analysis Translate validated business problems into clear, structured requirements suitable for Salesforce delivery Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure requirements are: Appropriately scoped Sequencing-ready Aligned to delivery capacity Partner with the Salesforce Platform Lead to ensure requirements align with: Platform standards and architectural patterns Data model and integration considerations Long-term platform health Produce and maintain artefacts such as: Business and functional requirements Process flows and journey maps User stories and acceptance criteria Assumptions, risks, and edge cases Ensure requirements consider end-to-end impacts across data, automation, reporting, and user experience Stakeholder Alignment & Expectation Management Act as the primary Salesforce requirements interface for business stakeholders Work closely with the Head of RevOps & Systems to ensure business priorities and intent are accurately represented Ensure stakeholders understand: What is in scope and out of scope Trade-offs and sequencing implications How their request fits into broader platform priorities Reduce delivery friction by resolving ambiguity early Delivery Support & Business Validation Support the Product Owner during planning by providing: Clear problem context Well-defined requirements Business rationale and urgency Remain engaged through delivery to: Clarify requirements Support UAT and business validation Confirm outcomes align with original intent Help ensure delivered solutions are understood and adopted by the business Documentation & Operating Discipline Maintain high-quality documentation in Confluence and Jira Ensure intake decisions, requirements, and assumptions are recorded and discoverable Continuously improve the Salesforce intake and analysis operating model Clarification of Responsibilities The Salesforce Business Analyst: Owns Salesforce intake quality and requirements clarity Shapes demand into prioritisation-ready work Supports effective planning through strong inputs The Salesforce Business Analyst does not: Set business or delivery priorities Approve or reject work requests Manage sprint backlogs or delivery tasks Make architectural decisions independently Act as a general Salesforce administrator What We’re Looking For Experience Strong experience as a Business Analyst working on Salesforce platforms Comfort operating in a lean Product and RevOps environment Experience working closely with platform leads, product owners, and senior stakeholders Strong understanding of Salesforce data models and CRM processes Revenue Operations or Systems experience is highly advantageous Core Capabilities Excellent problem-framing and analytical skills Clear, structured written communication Confidence to challenge stakeholders constructively Ability to bring clarity to ambiguity Strong organisational and prioritisation mindset Why This Role Exists This role exists to: Improve the quality of Salesforce demand entering delivery Create a consistent front door for Salesforce requests Reduce rework and delivery thrash Support better prioritisation and capacity decisions Protect delivery teams through clarity and discipline Reporting Line & Key Relationships Reports to: Salesforce Platform Lead Works closely with: Salesforce Platform Lead Head of RevOps & Systems Product Owner Revenue, Marketing, Partnerships, Support, Finance, Product and Operations teams Salesforce delivery partners Flexibility in work hours and location, with a focus on managing energy rather than time.
