• Location: Melbourne / Sydney, AustraliaWork Arrangement: HybridABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) Solution Architect to lead the architecture, technical strategy, and delivery of enterprise-grade digital commerce solutions.This role will own the end-to-end solution architecture across complex commerce ecosystems — from discovery, requirements and technical design through to implementation, governance, and go-live. You will work closely with clients, business stakeholders, product teams, developers, and technology partners to design scalable, secure, and maintainable commerce platforms.The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware), strong experience across enterprise integrations and composable/headless commerce, and an understanding of emerging Agentic Commerce patterns such as AI-powered shopping assistants, conversational commerce, and autonomous commerce journeys.Experience with Adobe Commerce/AEM, Sitecore, or other composable commerce platforms will be highly valued.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn the end-to-end solution architecture for Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud implementations, including SFRA, headless, and composable commerce architectures.
• Lead architecture and technical discovery workshops with clients and stakeholders, translating business and technical requirements into scalable solution architectures.
• Define solution architecture, technical standards, integration patterns, non-functional requirements, and technology roadmaps.
• Architect integrations between SFCC and enterprise platforms including OMS, ERP, PIM, CDP, payment gateways, CRM, and third-party services.
• Design and govern API and integration strategies using SCAPI, OCAPI, REST, SOAP, and other appropriate integration patterns.
• Provide architectural leadership across composable and MACH-based commerce architectures, determining the appropriate role of SFCC and complementary platforms.
• Evaluate and recommend build-vs-buy, platform, and technology decisions, considering scalability, maintainability, cost, security, and long-term business objectives.
• Provide architectural guidance on Agentic Commerce and AI-enabled experiences, including conversational commerce, AI shopping agents, autonomous journeys, and LLM-powered commerce capabilities.
• Assess emerging AI and commerce technologies and advise clients on practical adoption strategies and architectural implications.
• Establish and enforce architecture governance, coding standards, design principles, security practices, and technical best practices across delivery teams.
• Identify architectural and technical risks early and develop appropriate mitigation strategies throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Review solution designs, technical implementations, and key architectural decisions at critical project milestones.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, technical leads, and consultants.
• Act as a senior technical advisor and primary architecture contact for client stakeholders, clearly communicating technical decisions, options, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with delivery, product, UX, engineering, and business teams to ensure solutions align with strategic objectives and delivery roadmaps.
• Contribute to multiple client engagements and support the development of reusable architecture patterns and delivery standards.
• REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE7–10+ years of experience in eCommerce technology, digital commerce, or related enterprise technology environments.
• 5+ years of hands-on architecture experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware).
• Proven experience leading full lifecycle SFCC implementations, from discovery and architecture through implementation, deployment, go-live, and hypercare.
• Strong expertise in SFRA, JavaScript, Node.js, ISML, SCSS/LESS, and SFCC customisation and extension patterns.
• Deep understanding of SCAPI and OCAPI, including API design, integration patterns, authentication, security, and performance considerations.
• Strong experience integrating SFCC with enterprise platforms such as OMS, ERP, PIM, CDP, payment providers, CRM, and third-party services.
• Proven experience designing headless and composable commerce architectures, with a strong understanding of MACH principles.
