YOUR WORK

In this role, you will:

  • Adopt and apply software engineering concepts and processes to software development
  • Provide input to designs and technical specifications
  • Develop user interfaces and application programs using the technical specifications and design documents provided
  • Test, debug and maintain code according to the technical specifications
  • Provide knowledge transfer to less experienced staff
  • Assist in creating, refining, and maintaining user stories and associated deliverables such as process flows and test cases to meet development and stakeholder needs
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies (i.e., daily standup, sprint planning, retrospective, & demos)
  • Improve the reliability and utilization of systems and applications
  • Monitor software configuration changes to anticipate and address the impact of data reliability and customer satisfaction issues
  • Coordinate sustaining support for application platforms and business processes
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in services development, services adoption, and service governance
  • Proactively address potential system issues to meet or exceed established timelines and delivers service within budget constraints and seeks ways to reduce application-related costs

YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires 5+ years of Salesforce development experience, including full lifecycle implementation, design, coding, integration, and deployment experience in Cloud based applications
  • Strong technical acumen & working knowledge of Agile Methods, Service Architecture, and enterprise Cloud Integration
  • Strong command of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, Flows, Visualforce, and Omni Studio
  • Experience working with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming, etc.) and building robust integrations using MuleSoft or similar middleware tools
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with html, java script, Salesforce Lightning/Newport Design System, SOQL, SOSL & custom styling
  • Familiarity with Data Cloud concepts and ability to work with large-scale, real-time data architecture
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines to efficiently design, develop, test, secure, deploy, maintain, and support the Platform
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, event-driven architecture, Platform Events and Change Data Capture
  • Strong ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to create, translate, and execute technical deliverables
  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, Service Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud are strongly preferred; Velocity/Omni Studio is a plus

The Operations Portfolio team within Blue Shield of California provides robust solutions for our business partners, providers and members which improve the overall health care experience from membership, enrollment and Providers. The Salesforce Developer, Senior will report to the Senior Manager, Applications Services Lead in the Operations Portfolio. In this role you will help define and deliver solutions that meet business objectives and will serve as a facilitator between the business and IT in understanding the business needs. In partnership with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Product Owners, and IT interfacing groups you will lead the eliciting, analyzing, validating, and managing of requirements, business processes and high-level solution designs. An individual in this role is a proactive member of an Agile product team, working in tandem with the Product Managers and Product Owners and design and development team members to ensure the product continuously delivers value to users.
