Team Overview: The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

As EDC aims to be the leader in helping all Canadian exporters go, grow, and succeed internationally, the Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group in EDC plays a critical role in enabling leaders to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platform.
To better position ourselves for success, the Digital Business Platforms group is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Salesforce Technical Lead to spearhead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performing Salesforce solutions within our financial services ecosystem. This is a strategic leadership role where you will define architectural direction, mentor a team of developers, and drive digital transformation using Salesforce and cutting-edge DevOps practices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Salesforce development projects, ensuring best practices and security.
  • Architect and implement tailored Salesforce solutions that meet our business needs.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to our team of developers, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Advocate for DevOps practices and spearhead the setup of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
  • Keep an eye on the latest Salesforce trends and industry regulations to ensure our solutions are current and compliant with the newest standards.
  • Customize solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and other tools.
  • Supports the key stakeholders in translating business needs into adequate technical solutions.
  • Leads activities related to the Software design, development and integration of information systems and platform technologies according to industry best practices and EDC standards.
  • Guide the adoption of best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and other aspects of the software lifecycle.
  • Applying your continually improving understanding of knowledge of EDC’s software, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, and the industry in general.
  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
