Job Description: Area Trailer Sales & Rentals Salesman Reports to: Area Trailer Sales & Rentals Manager Last Updated: May 27th, 2026 Location(s): Texas FLSA Status: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships by promoting, selling, and delivering trailer sales and rental solutions within the assigned territory. EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB DUTIES: Contact current and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain features, and solicit orders. Develop and execute sales strategies within assigned territory. Perform direct mail, digital outreach, and in-person sales campaigns. Answer customer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and financing options. Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and contracts. Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions and sales activities. Coordinate delivery and ensure customer satisfaction post-sales. Operate forklift when required (certification preferred). Perform general oversight of property and equipment as needed. Protect company information by maintaining confidentiality. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company policies. Travel regularly within assigned territory. Always considers updates and developments to ensure ongoing efficiencies and development of the department. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Customer Service * Communication * Industry Knowledge * Sales & Negotiation * Judgment and Decision Making * Assertiveness * Technical/Product Knowledge * Knowledge of Regulatory and Industry Laws * Emotional Intelligence and Self-Management EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Required: * (High School Diploma) or equivalent experience preferred * 3–5 years of sales experience (equipment, industrial, or related field preferred) * Valid Driver’s License (required) * Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain) Preferred: * CDL (preferred but not required, depending on territory needs)   PHYSICAL DEMANDS * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, run, talk and hear.  * The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or operate objects, controls, or tools. Ability to climb and pull own weight in and out of equipment * Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste and smell. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT * The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places, and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. * Periodic exposure to stressful situations * Requires travel to customer sites, meetings, trainings, conferences, etc.. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low. * Occasional non-traditional working hours which may include evening and weekend meetings.
