POSITION: EXPERIENCED SALT/BRINE TRUCK OPERATOR

Location: 2069 Preston Road, Cavan, ON
(or reporting directly to assigned sites)
Seasonal Contract: November 1st,2025 to April 15th,2025
Rate of Pay: Experience to determine hourly rate of pay
On-Call Policy: The Employee will be on-call 24/7 during the winter months. The employee will be required to respond to calls in a timely manner and be fit for duty at all hours of the day and night.
Overview: The Gardener Peterborough is seeking experienced salt/brine truck operators for the winter season. As a salt/brine truck operator, you will be responsible for ensuring slip-free conditions by operating de-icing equipment. The employee will be required to document all weather changes and incidents/near misses at the time of event. The employee will be on-call 24/7 during the winter months, so reliability and quick response times are crucial. Work will be within Peterborough and surrounding area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with the loading and disbursement of salt/brine
• Aware and adheres to safety protocols and practices
• Communicate professionally with all team members
• Capable of handling challenging weather and road conditions
• Maintain accurate records and complete all shift documentation
• Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 3 years of clean CVOR
• Experience with salt or brine de-icing equipment
• Must be 25 years of age or older
