The SAFO Manager ensures quality control through production and ensures the team is fully versed and knowledgeable about Italian cuisine, meats and cheeses to provide product recommendations. Reports to the Operations General Manager and to the Fresh Market Manager. Reports functionally to the Head of Salumi and Formaggi, Eataly North America. Supervises and motivates the team to increase sales, efficiency, and work positively and professionally Manages stock levels and product purchases under the umbrella of Eataly’s buying program Assists in ordering supplies and merchandise as needed Communicates with main production kitchen as well as all restaurants to ensure that all orders are fulfilled Produces and supervises various cuts of meats and cheeses Manages production schedule to achieve maximum efficiency Ensures department is meeting quality, health and safety standards Communicates any technical or mechanical issues to the appropriate department Develops staff through effective training, coaching and feedback on performance Assists with employee hiring, assignment, training, payroll, scheduling, evaluations and terminations Documents, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidents Performs other duties as required or assigned Qualifications 2+ years of retail supervisory or management experience Ability to lead and manage a team Ability to effectively communicate with upper management, staff and guests Excellent time management skills Good knowledge of and passion for Italian technique and cuisine High school diploma or equivalent preferred 2+ years of food production experience highly preferred Job Requirements Ability to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours Ability to lift up to 45-50 pounds for short periods of time Food Handlers License preferred Compensation: This position pays a base rate of $70,000-$85,000 Additional Information Benefits and Perks Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave 401K with match or RRSP Bonus program Free family meal daily Discounts at Eataly Classes on products and Italian cuisine Referral bonus program and more!
