Job Description Position Purpose: The position will assist in duties associated to sample collection, general analysis of water samples, respond to customer water quality inquiries as well as collect process and regulatory samples at the company-owned facilities. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Makes daily visits to Treatment / Distribution System sampling sites at which time the following duties are performed. Collects weekly samples from the distribution system as assigned and supports the Water Quality / Production Team. Tabulates data collected from sampling sites. Collects watershed (river/reservoir) samples for laboratory analyses. Collects samples from on Distribution System as required for analyses to support customer water quality inquiry. Makes field determinations of taste and odor, treats samples for dissolved oxygen analysis, and records water temperatures, pH, and chlorine residuals. Performs basic math skills. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. AS Preferred Biology or Chemistry. Experience in water treatment plants and distribution systems is extremely helpful. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be capable of learning and utilizing company technology and software such as, GIS, SAMS, Basic Office Applications. Ability to effectively communicate to customers. Must be able to visually inspect and accurately interpret field analysis and lab reports. Must be able to identify aesthetics of water samples. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Must have the ability to walk and bend to collect samples. Requires manual dexterity to work with intricate and delicate instruments. Additional Information Pay Range: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.
