To learn more, please visit our company website: https://mckinneysl.com/ Position Overview: Sample Control is responsible for ensuring that samples received by McKinney Specialty Labs are received, documented, and stored correctly. The are usually the first point of contact between the client’s samples and the laboratory and, as such, are responsible for notifying the appropriate Lab Manager as to the receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently and profitably generate complete and accurate sample results on time. This role will report to the Group Leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Receiving samples (chemicals and consumables), processing samples, and sample storage · Upkeep of stocking the warehouse · Review and reconciliation of sample receipt and chain-of-custody · Communicating sample status to Business Development for samples received or expected to be received · Maintain sample disposal records · Maintaining sample storage archive area and records · Assist in updating SOPs related to sample handling · Prepare sampling supplies for shipment to clients · Outgoing shipping · Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of sample storage or processing · Complying with McKinney Specialty Labs’ Quality Assurance Program and other policies · Comply with McKinney Specialty Labs’ Exposure Control Plan · Work is completed when tasks and supporting documentation are completed, therefore overtime may be required to complete work · Keep workstation clean & organized · Assist with sample archiving and disposal Necessary Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
