The Sample Management Team Leader is responsible for the management of the Sample Management Team for following QA systems on behalf of the Quality Operations Manager. The team will conduct routine sampling of raw materials, packaging materials and bulk product, log raw material and finished product samples into the LIMS system, conduct AQL inspections of bulk product, conduct testing of packaging components and printed material and coordinate and store retention samples whilst maintaining a high standard of good manufacturing practices. Exercise scientific judgment and rationale to conduct investigations using techniques and methods which adhere to the standard operating procedures. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Management of all duties for which the operators and analysts have been deemed competent. Ensure the application of sound scientific principles in sampling and sample management work and support investigations Challenge and improve processes, with a particular focus on continuous improvement of data integrity and GMP compliance, as well as efficiency. Write investigations and reports Support and encourage continuous improvement initiatives for the benefit of the Quality department and the wider business Ensure activities comply with GMP, legal and ethical standards Develop and maintain a competent, motivated, and engaged team through effective communications, management, recruitment, training and development. Ensure direct reports are equipped with the information, instruction, training, supervision, and equipment that they need to work safely and that they abide by all relevant health and safety procedures. Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours Provide insight and apply creativity to challenging situations Plan, monitor and achieve goals within set time frames Provide, build and maintain consistent, reliable and accurate customer service Job Requirements: Proven ability to work under minimal supervision Understanding of staff development and training techniques Ability to read and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to comply with GxP Ability to build rapport, establish and maintain relationships with peers, business contacts, and corporate management Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines and targets with competing and conflicting priorities Demonstrated attention to detail and extensive technical knowledge and ability is essential in this role Sound judgement and decision making skills Understanding of GMP requirements (desirable) Minimum of high school (year 12) education with passes in Maths and English. Completion of one Science subject (preferably chemistry) or tertiary qualification in science is desirable.
