Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Sample Preparation Technician (General Labourer) to join our team in Delta, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine sample preparation tasks in our laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely processing of geological materials. Unpack, sort, transfer, and dry samples according to established procedures Execute crushing, pulverizing, and screening of geological materials following standard operating procedures Conduct routine quality checks, including particle size analysis and dust loss measurements Maintain accurate and complete documentation of work orders and quality control results Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations Perform equipment maintenance and report any issues to supervisors Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines Adapt to working in various areas of the laboratory as needed Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of international soil samples Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 0-1 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory or industrial setting Strong analytical and mechanical skills Ability to perform routine bench tests and follow detailed instructions Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Good verbal and written communication skills Proven time management skills and ability to work efficiently Physical stamina to handle samples and operate laboratory equipment Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping Willingness to learn new analytical tests, instrumentation, and procedures Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work extended hours and shifts when required Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and protocols (preferred) Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all health and safety guidelines Additional Information Salary: $21 - $22 per hour Some benefit highlights: 80% coverage Health, Dental and Vision Paid time off RRSP Program Eligibility SGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and Indigenous status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
