Description

Workforce Inc. is currently seeking Sample Preparation Technicians to join our client’s team in Timmins. Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the successful candidates will play a key role in collecting, preparing, and documenting material samples from multiple areas of the mill, including loadout, concentrate handling, and processing operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma; post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering Technology or Metallurgy is an asset
  • Relevant industrial or lab experience is highly regarded
  • Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable with physical work and outdoor environments
  • Proficient with basic computer systems for data entry and reporting
  • Strong understanding of sampling procedures, quality control, and safety protocols
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures

Responsibilities
  • Collect, prepare, and label samples from ore deliveries, mill processes, and concentrate bags
  • Perform initial visual inspections and verify sample integrity and documentation
  • Log and input sample data into computer systems accurately
  • Communicate and coordinate with lab, operations, and shipping departments
  • Assist in organizing trucks for unloading and direct them to the truck scale
  • Work with Loadout Operators to seal, label, and prepare concentrate bags for shipment
  • Support mill processes by preparing samples as directed and assisting operators when required
  • Identify and report any irregularities in samples or preparation trends
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in work and sampling areas
  • Operate a two-way radio as needed
  • Participate actively in all safety initiatives and company procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lab Supervisor and/or Engineering personnel
