Job Description Key Responsibilities: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming samples against accompanying documentation. Log samples and relevant sample details into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Assign and apply proper identification labels on samples and paperwork to maintain traceability. Communicate with clients or internal teams regarding sample discrepancies or missing information. Prepare and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory departments. Communicate with the lab departments and management to properly prioritize samples. Maintain sample storage conditions (e.g., refrigeration) according to requirements. Ship samples for external analysis with completed sample analysis instructions. Drive company vehicle to pick up and drop off samples, as required. *Only after hired as an SGS employee. Prepare sampling kits and stock sample bottles. Assist with general laboratory housekeeping and inventory management. Follow strict safety, quality control, and chain-of-custody procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School or equivalent Required No experience required, unless required by state law Required Language Skills: Intermediate English Required (Advanced Preferred) Mathematical Skills: Basic Required (Intermediate Preferred) Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level required, uses logical and practical approach to solve problems Required Ability to effectively communicate (in writing or verbally), presenting information individually or in small group situations to internal or external customers Required Ability to follow directions ensuring the end results are accurate and completed with the required timeframe Required Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Required Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Required Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision Required Team player attitude, customer care focus Required This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Position requires occasional overtime. This position requires use of laboratory chemicals, including acids and bases.
