Job Description Please note this is a 4 week contract, to start as soon as possible. The purpose of this role is to process customer samples while maintaining consistent customer service, efficiency, quality and accuracy standards as required by the company. Within this role the department team lead will provide supervision on daily responsibilities and appropriate training will be provided. If the candidate performs to expectations in the temporary role, there are opportunities for this to become a permanent role. Working hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00. No experience required, this role will involve some manual handling. Accurately logging food samples into the lab IT system in a timely manner. Taking in of customer samples, sorting and labelling them while ensuring that the correct information is recorded onto the lab IT system for samples that are to be analysed. Sub-contracting food samples as required, sorting, labelling, tracking of samples and results. Undertaking general administration duties including photocopying, typing, filing etc. as required. Sample disposal and general laboratory cleaning and maintenance. Logistics of samples between laboratory departments, cooled storage, and waste. Be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required. Preparing sample kits as requested and maintaining good communication as well as traceability at all times. Qualifications Ability to lift and carry heavy loads. Computer literate. Excellent standard of written and spoken English and numeracy skills. Hard working self-motivated and professional team player. Ability to work well under pressure. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
