Summary: A Sandblaster operates specialized machinery that fires high powered jets of sand at metal assemblies within a specialized sandblast room. The position is accountable for removing paint, grime, adhesives, rust or imperfections to the surface of large metal structures in order to get it prepared for paint finishing. This position is a highly physical position that involves a degree of stamina and upper body strength. Responsibilities: Sandblast metal assemblies. Wear Personal Protection Equipment. Ensure safety while handling parts and operating equipment to avoid any possible damage to others as well as production. Performs minor equipment maintenance. Requirements: High school or GED Diploma. Positive attitude. Flexible with schedule, to allow for coverage across shifts and additional duties. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to follow instructions. Must be able to work around and with chemicals and sand products. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Capable to perform and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to sand/dust, heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Position will be frequently required to walk, stand, bend, squat, and otherwise move continuously throughout shift. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
