JOB OVERVIEW

Cedars is a brand new sandwich shop opening in September 2025. We are located in East Vancouver at 49th & Elliott. We are seeking a part-time assistant to join the owners who will also be working in the shop. You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within our shop, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.

SKILLS

• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Experience in a restaurant setting preferred.
• Basic math skills and technical skills for operating the POS system and processing payments.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to engage positively with customers.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
  Job Type: Part-time
  Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 20 per week

• Assist in food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared according to safety and quality standards.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for efficient transaction processing.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
• Support kitchen staff with food handling and serving duties as needed.
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
