Description Key Duties/Responsibilities The Sanitor will clean assigned plant areas and equipment using a combination of dry pickup, hot water and chemicals always following the safe procedures for each chemical and task. Using a combination of chemicals, water, and cleaning tools the sanitor will clean floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment as assigned Will lock out equipment following SSI Lock-out procedures prior to beginning any equipment cleaning Communicates any equipment damage or issues to supervisor Participates in chemical training and strictly follows guidelines, rules, and regulations regarding specific chemicals Complies with all SSI, federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Required Skills/Abilities Ability to work in and around equipment. Ability to read at a basic level to understand risks on SDS or chemical labels. Education and Experience Must have at least 6-months previous clean up experience Previous water hose experience preferred Physical Requirements Regular periods of standing and walking in a cooler environment (35 to 45 degrees F) Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Ability to work in a cold and hot wet environment. Ability to move in, around and under equipment.
