JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Sanitation II Department Sanitation Reports To Sanitation Supervisor/Manager FLSA Status ☐ Exempt  ☒ Non-Exempt Employment Type ☒ Full-Time  ☐ Part-Time Position Summary The Sanitation II employee is responsible for performing advanced cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the pistachio processing facility. This position ensures compliance with food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP requirements, allergen controls, company sanitation procedures, and safety standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production environment.  Essential Functions • Read and follow chemical labels to ensure safe application, use, and disposal.  • Clean and sanitize equipment using approved chemicals, sanitation chemicals, and power washers.  • Clean facility floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and drying surfaces.  • Clean overhead structures, elevated platforms, conveyors, and hard-to-reach areas.  • Gather and empty trash containers throughout the facility.  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning and sanitation purposes.  • Inspect equipment, structures, materials, and chemicals for cleanliness, food safety, and operational safety.  • Document inspection and sanitation results accurately and timely.  • Monitor facility security and safety by identifying potential hazards and reporting concerns.  • Follow all company safety policies, GMP requirements, HACCP procedures, allergen controls, and food safety standards.  • Wear required PPE at all times while performing assigned duties.  • Assist leads and supervisors with sanitation-related activities as needed.  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and warehouse departments to support facility operations.  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.  • Perform additional duties as assigned.  Qualifications Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED required.  • Minimum one (1) year of sanitation experience preferred.  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read and interpret complex procedures, work instructions, and safety documentation.  • Ability to safely work with cleaning and sanitation chemicals.  • Ability to perform basic math and report-writing functions.  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers and supervisors.  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  • Ability to follow GMP, HACCP, food defense, allergen control, and food safety requirements.  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.  Work Environment • Food manufacturing and pistachio processing environment.  • Exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, dust, dirt, fumes, toxins, and production hazards.  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments.  • Exposure to loud noise levels.  • Indoor and outdoor work may be required.  • Work around processing equipment, power tools, machinery, forklifts, conveyors, and other heavy equipment.  • Must comply with all food safety, sanitation, safety, and PPE requirements.  Physical Demands / ADA Functional Analysis Chart Physical Requirement Frequency Essential Function?
