QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have the knowledge and skills required to work in a fast paced and challenging environment both inside and around the facility.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree is preferable.
  • 5+ years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience handling sanitation chemicals and Knowledge of various chemicals used in the sanitation process
  • Excellent math skills including knowledge of liquid measures
  • Ability to work evening hours (second- shift)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to supervise employees and lead by example
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to work in a climate that varies in temperature including working outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory sanitation requirements, product quality and food safety standards and employee safety and environmental standards.
  • Ensure that the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time.
  • Create a work environment that reflects a commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees, food safety and quality of products.
  • Enforces GMP’s and implements Food Safety Plan (FSP) processes and procedures.
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation plans, MSS, budget forecast and performance.
  • Work closely with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, sanitation needs and schedule changes. Be able to plan, while being flexible to understand and accommodate production schedule changes triggered by customer requirements or by operational challenges.
  • Maintain inventory of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
  • Train staff on proper usage of sanitation chemicals
  • Develop, update, maintain Plant’s MSS.
  • Maintain good communication with subordinates, peers and other members of management. Prepare reports regarding inspections, Pre-ops, sanitation violations, EM results and corrective actions taken.
  • Recommend changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures and standards.
  • Monitor completed sanitation tasks and cleanliness of plant.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Coordinate with maintenance or others as appropriate to solve sanitation-related problems.
  • Participate in audits, facility inspections and coordinate pre-operational inspection with Quality Department.
  • Clearly communicate expectations to sanitation employees
  • Other duties may be assigned.
