Description

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Sanitation Supervisor oversees sanitation activities within the facility, grounds and processing equipment in a clean sanitary condition conducive to manufacturing safe products in accordance with FDA and Local regulations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

3+ years of sanitation role experience, preferably in a food manufacturing facility
Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and industry specific regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP.)
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    Schedule:
    Must be able to work 3rd Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the Sanitation team, training them on proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining all sanitation & GMP policies & programs.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) for sanitation practices.
  • Maintaining adequate supplies of cleaning, chemicals and equipment.
  • Continually monitor and enforce sanitation crews in observance and compliance of plant safety policy and procedure such as the Lock out Tag out program, chemical safety, etc.
  • Ensures that cleaning and sanitizing of utensils and equipment shall be conducted in a manner that protects against contamination of food, food-contact surfaces, or food-packaging materials.
  • Leads the sanitation team in safe working practices including chemical handling, PPE, and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintains and keeps current the facility Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and maintains applicable documentation.
  • Develops expertise in sanitation chemical properties and use, proper dilution of chemicals.
  • Performs other duties as required.
