JOB PURPOSE Assure consistent cleaning of plant and food equipment. Performance of cleaning procedures that comply with stated corporate mission and strategic plan, corporate policies, and customer requirements. Requirements PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Dry cleaning, garbage removal and janitorial activities Wet cleaning to include rinsing, soap application, and scrubbing Work with soaps / other cleaning chemicals. Other duties as required WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a food processing and produce manufacturing environment. Regular exposure to wet and humid conditions during sanitation and wash-down activities. Exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas at 35°F or below. Frequent exposure to cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, including chlorine, soaps, detergents, and other approved sanitation agents. Exposure to produce-related odors and fumes, including onions, peppers, and other vegetables. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including rain gear, gloves, safety footwear, and other sanitation-related protective equipment. Work may involve cleaning production equipment, processing areas, common areas, and waste disposal locations. Must be available to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require. Fast-paced manufacturing environment with strict food safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods of time while wearing rain gear and PPE. Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling cleaning tools, equipment operation, and documentation. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, kneeling, and climbing. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver sanitation equipment and cleaning supplies. Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing 5 to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate sanitation equipment such as foamers, brooms, shovels, hoses, and related cleaning tools. Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and scrubbing motions throughout the shift. Visual ability to inspect equipment, production areas, and sanitation results for cleanliness and compliance. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and management. Ability to work safely around moving equipment, machinery, water, and cleaning chemicals.
