SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is responsible for completing all duties and tasks assigned to them before their work shift ends. The purpose of the Sanitor is to aid in the breakdown, cleaning/disinfecting, and reassembly of the food production equipment to ensure all food safety standards are being maintained.  This position works a non-traditional work schedule where weekends are part of the expected work week.   PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED A. Obey GMP’s and PPE’s for production areas.   MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Use water, chemicals, and sanitizer to clean and sanitize equipment and production rooms daily B. Detailed sanitation and up-keep of the facility along with ensuring that all processing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized to establish standards to process food products C. Sweep and squeegee floors D. Disassemble and assemble equipment E. Clean equipment and machinery F. Identify and report food safety and food quality issues G. Follow all OSHA safety guidelines required by company H. Comply with GMP and Food safety guidelines I. Perform all other tasks as requested by plant/floor supervision J. Work within a cold and wet environment and wear specified company provided protective gear at all times K. Performs other duties as assigned.   QUALIFICATIONS   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED):Related training, or at least one month of related experience.  Should be mechanically inclined with an emphasis on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of processing equipment.   TRAINING REQUIREMENTS To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.   LANGUAGE SKILLS  Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and the safety regulations   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Basic math skills.   REASONING ABILITY  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.    PHYSICAL DEMANDS   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and potential exposure to sulphuric acid (electric battery), potential exposure to carbon monoxide from propane fueled forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
