Seeking cheerful and dedicated talent to create a memorable, family friendly Santa Claus experience. What you get to do: Create a realistic Santa character experience for families Consistently perform the same high energy experience repetitively throughout the night of the event Responsible for clocking in and out at the beginning and end of assigned shifts Taking and implementing direction from Production Team Maintain a tidy and safe work area Maintain a professional demeanor while working with a diverse group of customers, leadership and co-workers Perform other duties as assigned based on business need What it takes to succeed: At least 18 years of age Available for shifts between the times of 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM on event nights and during some rehearsals (Shifts will vary and some start later in the day) Available for rehearsals, to include weekend days which occur on select nights prior to the event openings Able to disclose accurate availability for all event/rehearsal dates during the audition process Previous performance experience as a Santa Claus character required Santa talent must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time Costumes will be provided and will remain the property of the company Based on needs and availability some positions will not work every night of the event Develops skills/knowledge to maintain excellent quality show/appearance Follows through on show notes to insure progress in specific areas and adhere to creative vision of the Production Team Maintain personal appearance by meeting costume and make-up requirements EEO Employer: SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. Actors - Great stage presence and interactive comedic skills that excel at improvisation. Actors perform in multiple high-energy shows per day, on our stages and streets, to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. Costumed Characters - Personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities to bring Sesame Street® characters to life. Share the joy of entertaining children and other guests as a costumed character by greeting guests, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and giving hugs. Costumed character performers also act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions. Dancers - Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus. Dancers perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. Event Performers - Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers. Instrumentalists - Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence. Scare Squad - Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events. Vocalists - Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred. Vocalists perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. How should I prepare for my audition? You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination. Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins. Please wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans.
