Job Description 📌 Job Description – SAP API Management Expert Position Summary We are looking for an experienced SAP API Management Expert to design, implement, secure, and optimize API-based integrations within SAP Integration Suite. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise in API management, security policies, integration patterns, and end-to-end architecture in SAP cloud and hybrid landscapes. 🎯 Key Responsibilities API Design & Development Design, build, and manage APIs using SAP API Management (SAP Integration Suite). Develop API proxies, flows, and policies (e.g., security, traffic management, transformation). Implement REST/OData APIs with best-practice governance and versioning. Integration Architecture Define integration patterns across SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Integration, on-premises systems, and third-party applications. Participate in solution architecture discussions and provide API-driven integration recommendations. Ensure reusable, scalable, and compliant integration designs. Security & Governance Configure and enforce OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, Principal Propagation, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms. Implement threat protection, rate limiting, and other API security controls. Establish API governance standards and best practices. Monitoring & Performance Monitor API performance through SAP Integration Suite tools. Troubleshoot and optimize API latency, throughput, and error handling. Ensure SLAs, reliability, and high availability. Collaboration & Documentation Collaborate with developers, functional consultants, and solution architects. Support integration teams with technical guidance and code reviews. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, API catalogs, and operational guides. Qualifications 🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills Strong expertise in SAP API Management (must). Hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, Open Connectors is a plus). Solid understanding of REST, OData, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, YAML. Experience with security standards: OAuth2, SAML, JWT, Basic Auth, API Keys. Understanding of networking concepts: SSL/TLS, DNS, VPN, reverse proxy. Knowledge of SAP BTP and SAP S/4HANA integration. Experience with Git/CI-CD pipelines for API artifacts is an advantage. Professional Experience Minimum 5–7 years of experience in integration domains. At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP API Management. Proven experience in large-scale SAP integration projects (cloud or hybrid). Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in an international, distributed team. Nice to Have Experience with SAP CAP / Node.js for custom API development. Exposure to Apigee, Azure API Management, or Mulesoft. SAP BTP certifications.
