Mō te tūranga | About the role As our SAP Basis Support Specialist, you will be responsible for managing DOC’s SAP Basis infrastructure and ensuring that all SAP systems operate reliably, securely, and efficiently. You will work closely with SAP developers, system administrators, database administrators, and wider infrastructure teams to maintain a robust technical landscape and support ongoing system improvements. You will also contribute to agile delivery processes, strengthen security and performance capabilities, and collaborate across the organisation to ensure our SAP systems continue to meet business and operational needs. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and maintain SAP Basis infrastructure including installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning. Oversee SAP vendors and support partners working in the Basis area. Monitor SAP system performance and conduct capacity planning. Implement performance optimisation and ensure compliance with SAP security standards. Maintain role-based access control and secure SAP environments. Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure long-term stability. Deliver tasks aligned with work plans and performance expectations. Maintain accurate system documentation and operational procedures. Identify and escalate critical issues and risks. Click here for the Role Description Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience You will bring strong technical capability backed by hands-on SAP Basis administration experience in enterprise environments. You will also have; Solid expertise in SAP Basis administration (installation, configuration, performance tuning, transport management, security, user admin). Experience supporting SAP landscapes in enterprise settings. Strong understanding of Linux and Windows server operating systems. Experience with SAP HANA databases. Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies. Proficiency in SAP security, access control, and compliance requirements. Experience with SAP monitoring tools and performance optimization. Knowledge of backup/recovery procedures, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and root cause analysis abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate widely. Builds trust easily and works effectively with diverse teams. SAP Basis certification(s). Relevant system administration qualifications or equivalent enterprise experience.
