About the role We are on the lookout for an experienced SAP Functional Specialist to join our Information Services team. This role bridges technology and operations, with a focus on Transportation Management (TM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) in our SAP S/4HANA environment. You’ll act as the go-to expert for your functional areas, partnering with operational teams to support daily activities, implement enhancements, and deliver projects that drive efficiency and scale. This is a hands-on, business-facing role where your insights will be valued, your challenges welcomed, and your solutions trusted to have a real impact across the business. Key responsibilities of this role include:. * Acting as the functional solution owner for SAP Transportation Management (TM), with additional responsibility across Sales & Distribution (SD) * Supporting Materials Management (procurement/buying), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and export-related processes including MPI/Export Declarations, containers, and freight * Partnering with business stakeholders (Export, Warehouse, Sales, Supply Chain) to understand requirements and translate these into effective SAP solutions * Providing 2nd and 3rd level support for operational tickets, incidents, and enhancement requests * Leading and contributing to SAP projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives * Working closely with architects, technical teams, and external partners (including SAP) to ensure solutions align with Synlait’s ERP strategy * Participating in an on-call support roster (approximately 1 week in 4) About you   You will be an experienced SAP Functional Specialist with strong expertise in Transportation Management (TM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) within a modern SAP S/4HANA (2023 FPS03 PCE) environment. You will be comfortable working across multiple SAP modules, engaging with senior leaders, and balancing day-to-day operational support with strategic project delivery. Experience in manufacturing, dairy, or primary industries is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes: * Proven experience as an SAP Functional Specialist, with a strong focus on SAP, ideally TM (5+ years) and SAP SD (minimum 3+ years) * Experience working in SAP S/4HANA environments (essential) * Exposure to EWM is desirable * Background in manufacturing, dairy, or primary industries is highly advantageous * A solution-oriented mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving capability * Experience owning functional areas end-to-end, from support through to delivery * SAP certifications and relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred About us – The Synlait Spirit Synlait is more than a global leader in milk nutrition – we're a purpose-led team that’s Doing Milk Differently For A Healthier World.
