Avantra is seeking an SAP Test Engineer to lead testing of our automation and monitoring functionality for SAP operations teams. Avantra is the leading AIOps platform for SAP operations, providing monitoring and automation capabilities for the teams and service providers that run SAP.
The right candidate will have SAP operations experience, in an SAP Basis or cloud administration role, with some capability for DevOps or automation in SAP technologies. The role includes creating test environments of SAP cloud products and software, to test automations of key system administration tasks.
As Avantra is used to manage the SAP environments of the world’s biggest companies, as such, the right candidate will be passionate about quality assurance and releasing high quality software that can be trusted by customers to make critical changes to business-critical applications.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience in testing and test automation
• Strong experience in SAP Basis or system administration, including product installation, cloud configuration and provisioning
• Strong problem-solving mindset and self-driven with ability to analyse SAP configurations and customisations to design meaningful test scenarios
• Basic scripting or development skills (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python, PowerShell, Bash or equivalent)
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure automation technologies (Ansible, Terraform etc.)
• Knowledge of structured software testing methodologies aligned with ISTQB principles (ISTQB Certification is a plus)
• Good communication skills in English (German a plus)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for SAP automation and monitoring functionality
• Collaborate with SAP automation engineers and developers to build test cases and test environments for automations
• Maintain and evolve regression tests
• Test and validate fixes and improvements of existing software
• Automate creation and reset of test environments of SAP software in the cloud
