Satellite Systems Engineer for Spacecraft Databases / Software (m/f/d)
To operate our satellites, a lot of information is needed on ground (e.g. how to command the satellites or how to interpret the data coming from the satellite during integration & flight). The database team develops and maintains the satellite reference database (SRDB) and manages its data. Being a part of the team allows to you to get a thorough understanding of the architecture, interfaces, and operations of our spacecrafts.

Your Tasks

  • Collaborate with the different engineering teams and customers to organize, collect, and process the commanding, telemetry and engineering data for the satellite
  • Manage the release process of our products
  • Support the improvement and development of our software tools and engineering workflows
  • Plan and schedule product releases according to stakeholder agreements
  • Participate in official project reviews with ESA and customers
  • Create and maintain the documentation of our database products
  • Assist the satellite and operations teams using the SRDB and its products
  • Populate the SRDB with the collected data
  • Track the validation of database products and outputs

Your Qualifications

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • You are familiar with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of the relevant ECSS standards is an advantage
  • You are a fast learner with a good technical understanding
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English
  • You have good communication and negotiation skills
  • You work proactively, accurately, and independently
