POSITION SUMMARY

The Saw Operator is responsible to ensure all products are cut to the appropriate length based on customer order and verify that all parts leaving the saw meet customer quality specifications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a machine operator capacity
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Experience with EPICS is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
  • Must have basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
  • Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets

Responsibilities
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and adjust as needed
  • Manage the saw controls and ensure that accurate cut lengths are set per the work order
  • Ensure that quality requirements are met and understand the relationship between cut speed and cut quality
  • Understand the difference between types of alloys and tempers, and ensure that they are separated properly on different racks
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure that all parts meet quality standards
  • Able to distinguish between defects such as die lines, flatness defects, off-square products, etc.
  • Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
  • Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
