Position Title: Saw Operator FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Production Supervisor Date: May 2021 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: The Saw Operator ensures the safe operation of a chop saw. Cuts materials to correct length and measurements. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. * Completes daily orders per production schedule * Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times * Follows all safety rules * Performs other duties as requested to full accountability Characteristic Duties: * Ability to follow instructions and take direction with a positive attitude * Ability to work as a productive member of a team and/or work independently with little direction * Ability to meet schedules and timelines * Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment * Ability to maintain a good attendance record * Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness Competencies: * Detail oriented and consistent * Mechanically inclined * Good leadership skills and safety mindset * Basic ability in mathematics, reading, and writing * Basic tape measure reading ability Supervisory Responsibility: No Work Environment: This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role frequently operates a chop saw; routinely uses standard hand tools. Noise such as warehouse equipment and machinery. This list is not all inclusive. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to speak and listen. This position requires prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks; walking, as well as use hands and fingers to handle, feel, lift, grasp,; reach with hands and arms; bending, squatting, reaching. Requires excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, occasional overtime as necessary.
