Description

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to provide professional technical support for engineers working on troubleshooting, maintenance upgrades of NIWC ROV systems. Capable of working on the Navy’s MK20 Mod0 to Mod 1 ROV (VideoRay Defender) and MK21 Mod 0 to Mod 1(SRS Fusion) systems conversion. This position is an Onsite role in San Diego, CA.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a High School Degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able yo obtain a Secret Security Clearance after start
  • Demonstrated leadership responsibilities in a shop lead or other capacity.
  • Must have practical knowledge of science and engineering principles.
  • Experience with electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment.
  • Aviation electronics experience or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • Experience with configuration management specifically the management of multiple configurations in development, release and fielding at the same time.
  • Experienced reading wiring diagrams and assembly of unmanned vehicles

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Systems and Electrical Engineering Systems and assemblies.
  • ROV assembly experience.
    Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors
Responsibilities
  • Provide over all shop leadership for the team of SAIC engineering technicians working closely with the customer team, which includes technicians, engineers, program managers, configuration managers, logistics support among other roles.
  • Interface with the customer during morning stand up meetings as the shop lead and main point of contact providing daily workflow status and serve the main point of contact during the day for any status updates.
  • Provide logistics support for the movement of ROV’s through the production workflow ensuring ROV’s are processed and delivered back to the Fleet on schedule.
  • Working closely with the Configuration Management team to ensure ROV configurations are up to date and configurations released to the field are properly documented.
  • Provide logistics and documentation support to include parts and material tracking of deployed systems, parts list generation, meeting and schedule support.
  • Once trained applicant should be capable of performing non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.
  • Supporting Government Acceptance Testing (GATs) and new fleet UROV systems including data collection and analysis, failure mode analysis, engineering improvements during at sea testing events in an open ocean environment.
  • Technical writing, system documentation and additional duties as requested by the customer as the role progresses.
