The SCA Media Coordinator/Art Museum Assistant Curator is responsible for multiple tasks while equally focusing on two main areas: 1) Marketing and media coordinator for the School of Communication and the Arts, and 2) The Liberty Art Museum operations and events.
The School of Communication and the Arts (SCA) Media Coordinator reports to the school’s Dean and is a liaison between all departments that encompass SCA and LU Marketing. This role oversees and directs marketing materials for the school, plans photoshoots, manages social media accounts, initiates website updates, compiles weekly newsletters, and performs other related media and marketing assignments as directed.
The Art Museum Assistant Curator reports to the Chair of the Studio and Digital Arts (SADA) department, organizing and overseeing approximately ten departmental events per academic year, some of which host up to 500 attendees. Events include SADA’s Marketplace, art exhibitions for students and featured professional artists, juried art competitions, graduate-level art shows, and department events. This position designs (or coordinates the design of) advertising materials including the printing, posting, and digital marketing for events. The role manages the Art Museum’s budget and day-to-day operations working closely with the department’s Administrative Assistant/Art Museum Assistant and student workers to coordinate projects and initiatives throughout the year.

This staff member will oversee the graphic design workflow of multiple student workers and manage docent hours of ARTS 382 and 582 classes. This position also provides internship, practicum, and/or CSER opportunities for students to manage Art Museum initiatives and projects.
