About us Tata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (TSMC) with its headquarters at 1000, Sherbrooke W., Suite 1120, Montreal (Quebec), operates iron ore mines in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec. The opportunity Tata Steel Minerals Canada is currently seeking an experienced Scaffolder to join their highly skilled team to work on a Fly-in/Fly-out basis of 2 weeks On/Off with a standard 12 hours/day schedule, to and from the Menihek region in Labrador, near the town of Schefferville, QC. Operations at our mine site are running 24/7 all year long. The main pick-up points are: St. John’s, Gander, Deer Lake in NL, Halifax, NS, Moncton, NB and Montreal, QC. The Scaffolder will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for the safe erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding system in accordance with site requirement, CSA standards, and company safety policies.   Major Responsibilities * Erect, modify, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding systems to support routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, shutdowns, and operational activities * Interpret work scopes, drawings, and site conditions to determine appropriate scaffold design and access solutions. * Ensure scaffolding systems comply with CSA standards, site specifications, and safety regulations * Install base plates, standards, ledgers, braces, guardrails, toe boards, and access systems * Secure scaffolding structures to buildings, vessels, and plant equipment using approved tie-in methods * Install planking, decking, safety netting, and fall protection systems as required * Conduct pre-use and routine scaffold inspections and tag scaffolds accordingly * Coordinate with maintenance trades, operations personnel, and supervision to meet job requirements and schedules * Load, unload, and handle scaffold materials safely and efficiently * Maintain good housekeeping in scaffold laydown and work areas * Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), toolbox talks, and safety meetings * Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor Your Profile * Red Seal Certification or Ticketed Journeyperson Scaffolder (mandatory) * Proven experience working in an operating industrial plant (mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or similar) * Hands-on experience with System Scaffolding (Ring Lock / Layer) and Tube & Clamp systems * Strong understanding of Task Hazard Assessments (THA/JHA) and safe work practices * Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and access layouts (isometric knowledge considered an asset) * High level of safety awareness and compliance with site safety standards * Strong attention to detail and quality of work * Effective communication and teamwork skills in a maintenance-driven environment The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the incumbent(s) of this job.
