Description Position Overview: The Clerk is a vital member of the Operations team within RMG. The Clerk is responsible for the facilitation and documentation of trucks entering and exiting the facility, and maintaining the inventory validity of the yard and train. The operations are fast paced and require individuals to effectively document and communicate when handling gate transactions. The Clerk must ensure that the expected containers and products are entering and leaving the yard to best assist and support with the successful onward movement of customer cargoes. When required, the Clerk will perform other administrative duties related to health and safety, personnel management, record keeping, and standard operating procedure development. Essential Responsibilities: Input system inventory updates as containers enter and leave the facility using a tablet. Verify incoming and outgoing train inventory to ensure accurate container tracking. Communicate actively with the Drayage Dispatcher regarding container movements. Maintain a safe operating environment by coordinating with yard operations when machinery enters the yard. Operate the scale and record container weights in the system. Take and test product samples, reporting results to operations. Approve load requests and enter operational data into the terminal operating system (Octopi) and related spreadsheets. Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures. Train new hires in RMG Safety SOPs and communicate updates to the team. Support OSHA audits and manage related documentation. Monitor and manage service agreements and contracts with external vendors on a monthly basis. Maintain and organize other documentation as directed by the terminal General Manager. Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership. Requirements Highschool diploma preferred Minimum 2 years experience with data input and report generation. 1 year experience in dispatching/agriculture/intermodal operations preferred Basic math Organizational skills Effective communication Time management Experience with Microsoft office products, terminal operating systems, SharePoint or Google Drive Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to climb up and down stairs frequently
