The Scalehouse Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the scalehouse at our Pompano Beach Material Recovery Facility. Building on the foundation of the Scalehouse & Equipment Operator role, this position takes on full supervisory responsibility for scalehouse staff, accuracy of all weighing and billing processes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordination across facility departments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical scalehouse knowledge with leadership ability, a customer-service mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Oversee and perform all scalehouse operations including weighing inbound and outbound trucks using scale equipment. • Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate facility staff; manage daily scheduling and workload distribution. • Ensure accurate entry of weights, customer information, and load data into company software; audit records daily for errors. • Review and approve scale tickets, invoices, and billing documents prior to processing. • Ensure customers are charged correctly based on weight, material type, and current rate schedules; resolve billing disputes promptly. • Maintain and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly reports; prepare summaries for management review. • Oversee transaction processing, and end-of-day reconciliations. • Monitor and manage scalehouse inventory of tickets, forms, and supplies. • Operate loader, baler, and additional recycling machinery to support material movement when operationally required. • Coordinate with yard supervisors, drivers, haulers to maintain smooth traffic flow through the facility. • Enforce all site safety, environmental, and DOT compliance requirements at the scalehouse and gate areas. • Conduct regular audits of scale accuracy; coordinate scale calibrations and maintenance with certified technicians. • Ensure proper documentation for hazardous or regulated materials entering the facility. • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations at the scalehouse. • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to workflows or staffing. • Liaise with the Operations Manager on staffing needs, performance issues, and operational changes. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations / Facility Manager. Requirements What we're looking for: High School Diploma or GED (accredited) minimum required Minimum of four (3) years of relevant work experience required At least 1 year in a supervisory, lead, or team-leader capacity Proficiency in scalehouse / weighbridge software and MS Office (Excel, Word) Excellent written and verbal communication skills — English REQUIRED; Spanish strongly preferred Experience with MRF or solid waste compliance and regulatory reporting (FDEP, county ordinances) Heavy equipment operation experience (loader, baler, forklift) with applicable certifications (preferred) Work Environment Commercial Work Environment Outdoor Industrial Zone/Area Dynamic, often hazardous environments (occasionally) Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Holidays
