Position Purpose:
The overall duty of this position is to safely use nuclear substances and radiation devices to ensure all nuclear energy activities are in full compliance with the applicable provisions of the Applus Radiation Safety Program and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission regulatory requirements.
Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements as well as some travel.
We are currently hiring for an exciting short-term project running from September 9 to 28, 2025. We are looking to fill two (2) 5-person SCAR crews (10 positions available) with qualified and motivated individuals.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Radiographic Technician in work execution and daily tasks assigned as required.
  • Operates exposure devices in compliance with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission regulatory requirements.
  • Sign in/out and calibrate all equipment and dosimeter devices as required.
  • Properly stores all nuclear substances and radiation sources not currently in use.
  • Prepares daily logs and reports as required by the Applus Radiation Safety Program.
  • Reports any accidents, incidents, near misses and equipment malfunctions to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Reports any conditions that may lead to or cause a violation of a regulatory requirement, license condition or unnecessary exposure to personnel to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Prepares and completes all necessary paperwork required in compliance with client, industry and company standards and policies.
  • Replenishes and organizes the required supplies, as needed, to perform assigned RT methods.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of all work areas and vehicles.
  • Observes test procedures and product compliance to learn internal and industry specifications; applying knowledge and skill learned based on CEDO certification.
  • Actively promotes and proactively models the company’s focus on safety when interacting with all current and future employees and clients.
  • Strong commitment to quality inspection and reporting.
  • Represents Applus with outside groups, regulatory bodies, associations, and clients.
  • Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
