Position Title: Team Member/Scent Consultant for Chicago’s very own Pour-Your-Own Custom Candle and Fragrance Making Experience at AURA Candle Bar.
Location: Southport Corridor - Lakeview, Chicago – 2 minute walk to/from Brown Line, Southport Station
Hours: Part-time positions currently available during weekends. Weekend and holiday availability is a must. Studio Hours: Monday- Closed, Tuesday +Wednesday 11-7PM, Thursday-Saturday 11-8 PM, Sunday 12-5 PM
Who We Are: AURA Candle Bar is a socially interactive, pour-your-own retail fragrance and candle making class experience bringing people together to explore and create with scent. We invite guests to custom-blend fragrances in our customer-’scentric’ atmosphere.
Who We Are Looking For: Individuals that presently have a full time job and looking for additional part time weekend work in a creative atmosphere. Self-aware, present, emotionally mature, professional and intentional humans who are ardent about connecting with other humans in their community. A relentless passion for curating an up-scale fragrance experience while carrying out AURA Candle Bar’s mission to be the best part of our guests’ week.
By contributing your resourcefulness and initiative, you are creating an intentionally calm space for guests to escape the chaos of daily life. From the initial greeting of guests as they enter the studio and guiding guests on their fragrance journeys to creating custom blends and knowing how to take exceptional care of yourself so that you can take exceptional care of guests. We are seeking those who are integral and authentic in their overall approach to life.
Those who are comfortable speaking to groups in a public setting, those who are exceptional at prioritizing tasks as the tasks pertain to the guest experience, and those who are aware of the operational flow of a retail space have found significant success at AURA. We seek individuals who can lead with warmth and confidence, ensuring every guest feels cared for while upholding AURA’s high standards. Prioritizing the integrity of the brand and the curated experience over appeasement.
We are highly interested in those who have life experience that compliment fragrance. People from various backgrounds enhance AURA’s ability to serve those who visit the studio. *Custom fragrance blending training provided. AURA’s ownership have been trained by the Grasse Institute of Perfumery located in Grasse, France.
Important Notes:
Pay starts at $15/hour: $25+/hour with tips
Living close to the studio is a big benefit
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift over 45 pounds in a busy environment
