At the Department of Opportunities and Social Development (OSD), we are a large and diverse department providing a broad portfolio of programs and services including Child and Family Wellbeing (CFW), Employment Support Services(ESS), Income Assistance (IA), Homelessness and Supportive Housing, and Disability Support Program(DSP).

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Your primary accountabilities will revolve around ensuring the seamless management of schedules, requiring regular updates and modifications based on evolving requirements. You’ll monitor the regional access and transport schedule, ensuring its accuracy and timeliness for a large team and clients that we serve.
In addition to this, you’ll foster strong collaboration with Team Leads, Access Support Workers, and other departmental colleagues to maintain the schedule’s integrity and efficiency. Your role will frequently involve engaging with various stakeholders, including parents, foster parents, daycares, and other professionals, using various communication channels such as phone calls, emails, and text messages.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

You have four (4) years of related experience in an administrative or coordination environment.

In addition, you demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to provide outstanding client service, especially in crisis-driven situations.
  • Adaptability in crisis situations along with the ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Teamwork and collaboration, as well as an ability to work well independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication, along with strong organizational abilities.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications.

Though not required, the following are considered assets:

  • Knowledge of scheduling practices within an adjusted work-hour environment.
  • General understanding of services offered by the Department and other community agencies.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
