About the Role The Scheduler is responsible for contacting patients to schedule surgeries in a timely manner. Schedule patients accurately for appointments requested by physicians and patients for pre-op and post-op. Provides patient with information and instructions for medications, facility direction. Ensures all preop clearances and labs are obtained. Optimizes and maintains providers surgery schedule to utilize providers time efficiently and effectively. Ensures all informed surgery orders are signed by providers. Provides patients for reminder calls for surgeries and office procedures.  POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  * Maintain surgery calendar and surgery scheduling. Keep schedules full.  * Contact surgical facilities to schedule and post surgeries.  * Schedule surgeries at correct surgical facilities based on the type of procedure.  * Review, complete, and file consent forms and ABNs. Confirm copy is stored in electronic medical record.  * Follow up on cancelled surgeries for rescheduling.  * Contact insurance companies to verify coverage and coordinate with HEA Surgery Interview department.  * Understand the urgency of surgery.  * Verify that all consents are completed with patient signature, witness signature and date. Confirm copy of consent is stored in the electronic medical record.  * Complete Pre-op phone calls with patients to verify arrival date and time, what to bring, and to be NPO.  * Surgery billing and problem resolution.  * Update and maintain patient instruction handouts.  * Take measures to reduce surgery cancelations.  * All other duties as assigned.  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  * Knowledge of medical terminology.  * Knowledge of medical insurance including Out of Network.  * Knowledgeable in surgery billing, ICD-10 and CPT coding.  * 1 year surgery scheduling experience.  * 1year medical office experience.  * 1 year customer service experience.  * High school or equivalent (Required).  Why Join Legent Health? Responsibilities
