Consider Hood Packaging Corporation.         SCOPE OF POSITION We are seeking a Plant Scheduler to layout & sequence orders and schedule all production operations in a manner that will minimize manufacturing costs and will maximize machine performance and meet customer requirements.  Coordinate and expedite the flow of raw material orders through the ordering and manufacturing process.   FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Works closely with the Production Managers to optimize scheduling by sequencing orders in a way that will produce the smallest amount of make ready and will allow the greatest efficiency with the least amount of waste. * Schedule orders, update order schedule board to meet deliveries. * Schedules assigned production equipment in most efficient/service-oriented manner. * Responsible to resolve equipment scheduling questions whenever they may arise. * Prepares the web schedule and notifies Customer Service of any issues during the daily production meeting. * Coordinates customer approvals with Graphics and Customer Service. * Maintains inventory levels and orders accordingly. * Performs other duties as assigned.  * Follows all SQF requirements and General Manufacturing Practices (GMP). * Alternate SQF Practitioner KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS * Daily contact with Production Manager, Area Supervisors, Quality Supervisors, Maintenance, and hourly employees. * Regular contact with Customer Service team to resolve issues and information clarification. * Regular contact with Production Managers, Manufacturing Manager, and Human Resource Manager to update and assess training needs. * Regular contact with Purchasing and other administrative areas on an as needed basis. * Communicate with suppliers on an as needed basis. Qualifications Education & Experience Education & Experience * High School Diploma or GED required and three or more years of scheduling experience or similar supply chain role. Skills * Understands order entry policies and practices.  Is capable of working with customers to fully develop and document customer requirements, including pricing. * Possesses strong communication skills, both oral and written. * Organizes and sets strategies and timetables for productively using our plant’s assets to meet customer requirements.  Is able to establish priorities. * Familiar with and practices the principles of total quality management as they relate to serving customers. * Ability to function as a team member with Supervisors, Sales, and facilities management personnel * Ability to learn and use the internal purchasing and inventory computer systems.  Working knowledge of applicable software applications. * Must have above average organizational and administrative skills and the ability to work under conditions of some stress and deadlines.   Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work well with others. * Must have good written and verbal communication skills. * Effective problem solving skills.   Hood Packaging Corporation is an equal opportunity employer and considers applications for all positions without regard to race, gender, religion, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, the presence of a non-job-related medical condition or handicap or any other legally protected status.
