POSITION OVERVIEW

PACO Group, Inc. seeks a Project Scheduler to provide project controls support across LIRR capital projects. This is a one-year, full-time consulting role based on-site at the Jamaica Central Control Building, standard hours 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with occasional field visits.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Communicate complex schedule insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze data rigorously—identify critical path drivers, risks, and recovery strategies.
  • Prioritize effectively across concurrent projects; meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Collaborate proactively with PMs, designers, estimators, contractors, and field staff.
  • Uphold version control, documentation discipline, and QA/QC standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on scheduling experience with Primavera P6—owner or GC support preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reviewing 3P schedules, EVM, TIA, delay claims, and change order evaluations.
  • Experience with MTA agencies and railroad infrastructure highly preferred; knowledge of railroad methods.
  • Ability to interpret drawings/specifications and produce advanced analytical reports.
  • AACE/PMI scheduling certification or PMP a plus; Bachelor’s in Engineering/CM or related field preferred.
    Hourly Rate $60-80/hr; Commensurate with Experience
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain resource- and cost-loaded schedules in Primavera P6 from initiation through close-out.
  • Build WBS/OBS structures; define logic, dependencies, constraints, and milestones to drive CPM analysis.
  • Integrate estimates and budgets; perform resource leveling and optimize multi-project workflows.
  • Update schedules, forecast remaining work, and analyze variances against baselines using EVM/SPI metrics.
  • Perform delay analysis and Time Impact Analyses; support entitlement assessments and EOT/COR negotiations.
  • Review and coordinate contractor/third-party schedules; ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare clear weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, and KPIs for senior stakeholders; lead review meetings.
  • Support re-baselining, change management, and documentation for oversight agencies and funding entities.
