Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules for large, complex projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Scheduler will play a key role in monitoring project timelines, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions to maintain project momentum.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) for large and complex projects, incorporating input from various departments and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to track project performance, integrating schedule data with cost and scope to assess progress against baseline plans.
  • Generate and analyze earned value metrics (e.g., CPI, SPI, EAC) to support project forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting to project stakeholders.
  • Track project progress against the established schedule, identifying any deviations, delays, or potential risks. Update schedules regularly to reflect changes and forecast future milestones.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to gather project data, monitor progress, and resolve scheduling conflicts. Ensure that all team members are aligned on schedule requirements and dependencies.
  • Identify scheduling risks or potential bottlenecks early on and work with the team to develop mitigation plans. Proactively recommend changes to keep the project on track
  • Monitor and manage the project’s critical path to ensure that key milestones and deliverables are met. Ensure timely actions are taken to avoid delays in critical activities.
  • Provide regular and detailed reports on the status of the project schedule, including potential delays, impacts to milestones, and the overall timeline. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including senior leadership, regarding schedule health.
  • Assess the impact of changes or delays in the project scope on the schedule and update the project timeline accordingly. Ensure that all schedule changes are documented and approved.
  • Develop project schedule forecasts and update progress tracking tools to reflect real-time project developments, including providing “look-ahead” reports to keep projects on track.
