The Operations team at Ultra is responsible for the manufacture, integration and testing of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.
The Planning & Scheduling function within Operations at Ultra, is responsible for reviewing incoming order requirements, material availability, capacity and resource planning to ensure customer orders are delivered in line with customer requirements. The role interfaces between various departments enabling the development of realistic plans and schedules to ensure achievable targets are set.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.
Job Description
The Scheduler/Planner has overall responsibility for the production schedule, including capacity and resource planning, including any escalating of issues/threats to operational delivery through to Programs scheduling. In addition to this, this position will liaise between Program Management, Quality and Production, aligning manufacturing orders for accuracy to target dates and materials planning in the ERP to the master schedule for various ongoing Projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain the Master Schedule(s) for Production through the S&OP process, providing forecast schedule input for Bid Reviews
  • Ensure scheduled capacity requirements, milestone dates and priorities are all met for upcoming manufacturing.
  • Weekly presentation of KPIs for Manufacturing & Project Teams including Daily Manufacturing metrics, Project EAC & ETC reports, Labour & Machine Load, Material Availability as well as any additional reporting needed in the Operations function
  • Ensures Manufacturing Orders are scheduled in advance, material is available, & Plan Of the Week targets set
  • Shop Order maintenance, monitoring and accuracy of dates, quantities, material plans and routing changes, documentation release for Manufacturing, including final cost review within expected target as required
  • Timely release of Demand driven Purchase Requisitions to Schedule
  • Regular maintenance of Project driven demands in alignment with Project Team requirements
  • Support Quality Assurance with the accuracy of the As-Built configuration in accordance with Customer expectations
  • Participate & provide feedback for Material Review Board actions
  • To ensure the efficient operations within the department through innovation and reduction of waste
  • Any other duties (considered reasonable) as and when required by the business

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
At least 3 years Production Scheduling in MS Project applications experience required
Experienced in a high technological manufacturing Environment or similar required
Post Secondary Education or equivalent experience required
Designation in Business, Operations, any Technical related field, SCMP/ASCM or Materials Management an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Applications
Possess fundamental knowledge of supply chain activities, including raw materials, manufactured assemblies and complex Bills of Material Structures
Understand intrinsically, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), demand & supply, material transactions, WIP & inventory management
Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of related experience.
