Description
Follows established policies and procedures, gathers and records all necessary information in the process of scheduling procedures and generating a hospital account. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing orders to ensure patients are optimized to proceed with needed procedure to accurately schedule highly complex invasive cases and appointments within multiple applications within EPIC. Educates offices, surgeons, and other support staff how to accurately complete case requests and manage their block time. Ensures procedures being scheduled have the appropriate insurance to protect patients from unanticipated financial impacts. Advocates for patient safety and quality outcomes by confirming surgical credentialing is aligned with procedure being scheduled. Recognizes and adheres to all CMS, JCAHO, and HIPAA requirements when creating a hospital account. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Education: High school graduate, GED or 3 years relevant experience. Experience: (2) two years' experience or equivalent with scheduling and/or registration and/or insurance verification in a healthcare setting
