Job Summary The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across multiple hospital departments that may include diagnostic imaging, outpatient surgeries, cardiopulmonary services, cardiac catheterizations, and others. This role serves as a liaison between physician offices and hospital departments to ensure accurate, timely, and patient-centered scheduling that supports efficient clinical workflows and optimal utilization of resources. Essential Functions Schedule diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in coordination with physician offices and hospital departments. Collect, verify, and input referral and patient information accurately. Coordinate schedules across departments to ensure continuity of care and optimal utilization. Distribute daily schedules to ancillary departments and update as needed. Communicate special equipment needs, timing requirements, or schedule changes to appropriate staff. Alert department leaders of schedule disruptions or equipment downtime. Prepare daily pre-admission testing schedules. Maintain accurate logs of scheduled procedures and follow-up calls. Complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Provide courteous and professional communication with staff, physicians, and patients. Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Proficient in verbal and written communication. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Working knowledge of scheduling systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. Frequent sitting, walking, and standing. Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Frequent use of hands for data entry and communication. Ability to see, hear, and speak clearly in a professional setting. Primarily office-based with exposure to standard office equipment. No regular exposure to biohazards or hazardous materials. May require occasional interaction with clinical departments. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of medical and/or radiology terminology preferred. Licenses/Certifications None required Experience Ability to read, write, and work independently required. Experience in a healthcare setting or scheduling role preferred.
