Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THIS POSITION:

  1. Scholarly Publishing Project Management
  • Manage projects as assigned by the Scholarly Publishing Manager, such as processing electronic theses and dissertations, assisting with ongoing student employee projects, and uploading issues of academic journals
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of Scholarly Publishing student employees
  1. Scholarly Publishing Customer Service
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries about the Scholarly Publishing program and addressing ScholarsArchive requests from faculty, staff, and students
  1. Scholarly Publishing Manager Assistance
  • Schedule meetings for the Scholarly Publishing Manager, c ompile monthly reports, and help with additional tasks
  1. Citizenship and Professional Development
  • Model professional and collegial behavior including participation in meetings, committees, and task forces assignments as invited
  • Engage in appropriate professional development activities to stay current in the field

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE:

Minimum education/experience

Required:

  • High school diploma with a minimum one year of experience working in a
  • library OR one year of supervisory experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience in publishing, library services, customer service, or project management and one year of supervisory experience

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications :

Required:

  • Ability to follow established procedures and to perform work requiring meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications
  • Demonstrated ability in making independent and logical decisions

Preferred:

  • Experience with library systems such as Digital Commons or with web content management systems
  • Experience in using Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and digitization software
  • Experience in managing timebound projects
  • Experience supervising or training young adults
