ACTUAL SALARY: £23,966 - £25,340

We have an exciting opportunity for an Attendance Officer to join a supportive and motivated team and you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first’.
We are seeking a focused, organised and passionate individual who will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students.
To be successful in this rewarding role, you will need to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and work within existing teams are essential. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and able to remain calm in a busy environment whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.
The purpose of this post is to provide operational and administrative support to promote whole school attendance strategies to fulfil our responsibility in the improvement of attendance across our academy. Owing to the nature of the role, an ability to relate to the academy’s students and their parents/carers in a positive and proactive way is crucial.
Strong IT skills and practical experience of using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, are essential for this role. Experience within a school attendance role is advantageous.
The successful candidate needs to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work to ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on one’s own initiative, as well as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor daily attendance records and identify students with irregular attendance or persistent absence
  • Analyse attendance data to identify trends, patterns and at-risk student groups
  • Generate regular reports for School leadership and other relevant staff
  • Make daily phone calls or send text messages to parents/carers to verify the reason for student absence
  • Undertake home visits to address concerns regarding student absence
  • Undertaker ‘late gate’ on a morning to monitor late arrivals to the academy and identify appropriate interventions
  • Be fully aware and comply with child protection and safeguarding procedures. Identify and report any concerns to the School Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • Ensure the schools attendance policies and procedures are followed
    Home visits are required for this job role so you will require a current uk driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
